hard reset this device through recovery mode. So before I get started I would say that typically this process would allow you

to get rid of a screen lock and I think it actually still does, but by

default when you have a screen lock you usually also have a Google account. For the most part almost everyone on

Android has a Google account signed in and what that will mean

is that when you're performing this kind of reset it will FRP lock the device

So when you're going to the setup afterwards you will need to confirm either the previously used screen lock or the Google account that was

previously logged in on this device. And if you don't know either of those the device basically becomes a glorified paperweight

Now I'm going to quickly set up a screen lock just so we can see if it removes screen locks. So

there we go, screen lock set. And you can lock the device. Let's turn it

off. As you can see I am on a lock screen. I'm going to turn it

off right over here and select power off. And when the device turns off you want to hold your power button and

volume down at the same time. So I'm going to prepare for this

I'm pressing both of them and it automatically boots me into boot mode. And here you will need to use volume buttons as you can see these

arrows that indicate that you use the volume buttons to navigate through the menu which you only

see one option at a time. So right now it's power off. If I use the other button it should be back to start. We start bootloader, recovery mode

That's what we want. Once it's selected confirm it using your power button. Next thing you will see is android with

no command logo like this one. So when you see this hold your power button and press volume up once. There we go. And this takes us to

the recovery mode. Now in here just as before using your volume buttons either one of them I want to scroll down and select

wipe data factory reset. And then confirm it using your power button. And again select factory data reset

Confirm that. And that's it. As you can see data wipe complete. Reboot system now will be selected by default so

press power button once again. This will initiate a reboot. And continue factory resetting your device in the background

Now because it's continuing it in the background it's going to take the device a little bit longer to boot back up. That's completely normal

Once that is finished we will be presented with android setup screen

And additionally as you've seen we didn't need to confirm any kind of screen lock. So it automatically allowed us to reset

the device. Now additionally I am not logged in to a google account on this device when I was resetting it
