Welcome. In front of me is a Roger Gear RG655 and today I'll show you how to go to the setup
0:14
process of the device. And to get started, once you boot it up, you'll be presented with
0:20
the language select screen with the app name HiThere screen. So let's just stop right here
0:28
choose our desired language, which for me I'm just going to stick with English, and
0:33
tap on start. And next page we can insert our SIM card. Now this step will be completely
0:38
optional so if you don't want to insert it right now, you don't have to. So that's kind
0:43
of what I'm going to do. And on the next page we have the option to connect to WiFi. Again
0:48
this step is again optional and if you don't want to you can skip it. But by skipping this
0:53
step actually, you do lose the ability to have the date and time be set automatically
0:59
so it might not be correct. And number two, you won't be able to log into Google throughout
1:05
the setup. Now, that being said, you still will be able to log into Google later on after
1:11
the setup is complete and after you have actually connected to WiFi, which you can do all through
1:16
settings. So I'm going to skip this right here and go further to the date and time which
1:24
isn't set automatically and it's nowhere near being correct. So number one, let's change
1:30
the time zone to plus one or something like that. I'm not going to bother looking for
1:49
much so I'll just set it plus one and it is April 8th so that's actually correct and the
1:58
time isn't so it is right now 3.19 so that's okay now and there we go. So date and time
2:07
set. Next page, Google services, location scanning, sending user and diagnostic data
2:14
all the typical, every Android has it so if you don't want it, disable it. If you don't
2:19
know what it is, read it. If you don't care, just accept it. Next page we have protect
2:26
your phone so here you can set up a PIN, pattern or password or just nothing if we
2:31
don't want to. So if you want to protect it, choose one. I can only choose one and then
2:37
just kind of add it. Now for this purpose I will add a pattern here and now once you
2:44
choose one of those it will ask you if you want to use the secure startup. I highly recommend
2:49
against it. It is just an annoying cumbersome feature if you can even call it a feature
2:56
Basically what it will do is once you, as an example, your device dies, you plug it
3:00
in for charging, you turn it back on and before it actually turns on into Android, there we
3:05
go, there is the pattern. Insert your pattern to boot the device. You do that and then you're
3:10
on a lock screen having to insert that pattern once more for some reasons and if you also
3:17
have a SIM card with a PIN, that gets even more annoying. So, honestly I recommend against
3:23
it because you do just have to insert protection twice for no reason. Now, once you choose
3:31
that option, if you want it secure or not, you can actually set up your lock screen
3:36
So I'm just going to draw my pattern, tap on next, redraw it, confirm and voila, it's
3:42
now set. And it looks like that's also the end of that setup for some reason. So that
3:52
was a fairly brief setup screen which ended abruptly. So, yeah, if you found this video
