Here I have HTC One M8 and let me show you how to enter the fastboot mode on the following device

So at the very beginning let me start by holding a power key

From the following menu let's choose restart and after you tap restart again you have to

start holding immediately volume down. So let me do it. Tap restart and start holding volume down key

Keep holding this key for the whole time. And that's it. As you can see the bootloader mode just pops up in front of you

Here you can navigate by using both volume keys and confirm options by pressing power key

So if you would like to enter the fastboot let's choose the first option the fastboot

and press power key to select it. And now you are in the fastboot mode

So you can use right now this mode or you can choose the hub Hboot or for example reboot

to fastboot. If you would like to quit this mode let's just simply choose either reboot or power down

So let me highlight reboot by pressing volume down and press power key to choose it

Now the device is quitting the fastboot mode and booting into a normal mode
