In front of me is a Xiaomi 12X and today I will show you how you can enable the power
0:12
saving mode. And to get started, pull down your toggle tray from the top right side, like so
0:21
And when you expand it, you should find this toggle right here, battery saver
0:25
Now this is the default location of all the toggles, so hopefully for you it's in the
0:29
same place, assuming they are not being organized based on, I don't know, language or whatever
0:36
But yeah, now once you find it, you can simply tap on it to toggle it on and that's about it
0:42
You can also hold it, which will take us to the settings right here, the battery saver
0:48
we have the toggle, what else do we have here, we have options, anything useful here
0:56
Turn off always on display, don't wake screen for notifications, turn off when charging
1:02
oh that's actually a neat one. So when you charge your device to above 60% it will turn off the power saving mode and
1:10
we also have the schedule time to switch between modes, so meaning you can actually set up
1:15
a schedule for the power saving mode. So as an example, you can set it up so it turns on automatically during night time when
1:23
you're sleeping, when you don't need your phone to function as it normally does
1:28
So there we go. Now these are the default kind of things that you have associated with just the power saving mode
1:37
There's also several things that you can do yourself to preserve a little bit more battery
1:40
so I'll quickly go into them, though I'll warn you, these toggles, some people might
1:46
find them useful, so whatever I might suggest, you might be actually utilizing at times
1:50
so keep that in mind. And additionally, you can toggle those off or on during the power saving mode when it's
1:58
enabled, but when you for instance disable your power saving mode, it won't do anything
2:04
with the other toggles that you have messed around here, so you'll have to do it yourself
2:08
So let's quickly go into them. The number one would be the Wi-Fi or just the internet
2:15
We have right now enabled Wi-Fi and mobile data, but let's be honest, I'm not utilizing
2:19
both of them at the same time. So as an example, if I would go outside, I would probably turn off Wi-Fi because I'm
2:25
not going to have any Wi-Fi accessible when I'm outside of my home
2:30
So I'd be strictly relying on my mobile data instead, and vice versa, when I'm home, there's
2:35
no need for me to utilize the mobile data, so I would switch to Wi-Fi
2:39
Now when I'm trying to prioritize battery life over everything else, I'll most likely
2:43
turn both of those off. Then going below here to the smaller toggles, we have things like location, which I have
2:51
already turned off, so it's off by default. Most of you will most likely have it off
2:55
Now location is used by applications like Google Maps to give you an accurate route
3:00
to your destination if you're using it as a GPS navigation. And additionally, apps will most likely tell you about the location being off when you're
3:10
opening apps that actually rely on it or just kind of like would like to have access to it
3:15
Now there are also apps like Home Appliances and the Smart Trash that will always tell
3:20
you that, hey, we need location. No you effing don't. But the app won't function without it, so keep that in mind
3:27
What else is here? NFC. If you're not really paying for anything, there is no, at the store, there's no real
3:34
reason for it to be running. And that's about all I actually have enabled that would drain my battery as a toggle
3:42
The last thing that I can recommend changing is the brightness. And this one will give you the best result
3:49
So by default when you have maxed out brightness on your phone, you obviously have the least
3:53
amount of battery. And dropping it just halfway, which on camera it might look like a drastic change, but honestly
4:01
it's not that much. Obviously it is visibly dimmer, but it's not to the point that I can't use it
4:09
And dropping it halfway will yield me several additional hours of battery life just from
4:14
that single change. So I'd recommend utilizing brightness as a primary battery saver, to be honest, because
4:23
most of the other toggles, even the power saving mode, won't have as big of an effect
4:27
on your battery as just the brightness itself does. So anyway, that being said, if you found this video informative, helpful, don't forget
