Welcome

In front of me I have Garmin for a runner 245 and I'm going to show you how to pair this watch with the iPhone
0:12
Before we start, you can pair this watch with an iPhone in two ways
0:16
The first way is to do it during the setup process of the watch. So basically if the watch is brand new or it's been reset to the factory default settings
0:24
and the second way is to do it through the settings once the watch has been already set up
0:30
First I'm going to show you how to do it during the setup process and then I'm going to show you how to do it through the settings
0:36
Okay, so the first thing we need to do is to turn on the watch
0:41
You can turn it on by pressing and holding the light button. Keep holding it for a couple seconds
0:46
Then you will see the logo on the screen and once you see it, you can release the button and wait until the watch turns on
0:53
And after the watch turns on and it's brand new or it's been reset to the factory default settings
0:57
you will see the list of languages on the screen. can scroll through this list by pressing the up and down buttons
1:04
Now select the language you would like to use on your watch. And once you select it, press the start slash stop button to enter
1:11
And as you can see, after we select the language, we are being asked if you want to pair
1:16
the watch with a phone. We want to do it, so select yes and then press the start slash stop
1:21
And once you select yes, you will see that the watch entered the pairing mode
1:26
Basically you have this animation on the screen and it tells you to download the
1:29
application on your phone. So let's open the App Store on our iPhone or before that
1:36
make sure that you have the internet and Bluetooth enabled. Once you do open the
1:42
App Store on your iPhone. In the App Store, tap on the App Store, tap on the search
1:52
icon right here, then tap on the search bar and type in Garmin
2:00
connect, then tap on search, scroll through the list of applications. You should see this one, Garmin Connect by Garmin with this icon, tap on it to select it
2:12
then tap on the get button to download and install the application
2:20
And after the application is done installing, you can tap on the open button to open it
2:30
After you open the application, you might get this pop-up on the screen about the Bluetooth permission
2:35
tap on OK to allow it because the Bluetooth permission is required And once you done you will see the main page of the app or the home page And here we need to login or create a new account
2:48
If you don't have an account, tap on create account button to make a new one. If you do have an account, tap on sign in to login
2:55
I'm going to tap on sign in, check the box, tap on next
3:00
And now I'm going to enter the email and password. And then we can tap on the next button to login
3:13
After you log in, you will be asked to allow or deny some more permissions, like notifications, for example
3:22
This permission is required if you want to receive the notifications from your iPhone on the watch
3:27
So if you want to do it, allow it. If you don't care, you can deny it
3:31
I'm going to allow it. And once you're done with the permissions, you will see that the app detected your watch automatic
3:35
watch automatically or it should. If it doesn't, try to turning off the watch
3:41
and turning it back on and then entering the pairing mode again or exiting the pairing mode and
3:46
entering it again to basically refresh the pairing mode. And it should help
3:53
And once the app detects your watch, tap on the connected button
3:58
Then enter the code from the watch on your phone. and tap on pair
4:12
You can again allow ordinate the permission for the notifications. Then tap on next
4:20
Here we can set up the bedtime. Basically it's useful if you want to use the bedtime mode or do not disturb mode during the sleep time
4:32
Basically if you set the bed time, basically if you set the bed time, time, let's say between 10 p.m. and 10 a.m., the watch will automatically turn on the
4:41
Duna Dister mode during that time, and all the notifications will be silenced on your watch
4:47
so it won't wake you up. And to set the bedtime and wake time, simply tap on the borders
4:52
right here or the boxes and set it to your liking by swiping up and down, like that
5:00
And once you're done, you can tap on next, and you can tap on yes if you want to turn on
5:05
on the do not disturb mode during sleep or no to turn it off
5:08
I'm going to tap on yes. Here we can agree to send the recent training data to our new device
5:15
I going to select no and tap on next And now we can allow the permission for the location This one is required if you want to track your training sessions like cycling running and stuff like that
5:28
If you don't care, you can deny the location permission. I'm just going to allow it and tap on allow while using the app
5:34
If you want to deny the permission, you need to tap on the skip button right here or tap on don't allow
5:40
I'm going to tap on allow. Next we have the calendar permission
5:45
So if you want to get the notifications about the events and stuff like that from your calendar on your watch
5:52
you need to allow this permission. If you don't care, you can tap on skip to keep it disabled or tap on don't allow
6:01
And once you're done with the permissions, you should see this page right here. You can tap on sync now
6:06
Tap on finish. Go through the tutorial. Tap on finish. and here you can set up the weather data
6:15
so basically you can select the specific location to get the weather data from
6:20
I'm going to tap on next no thanks but you can tap on manage a weather location and it will open the map
6:25
and you can select the location there and then tap on Gallid
6:29
and now you should see the home page of the app or my day page
6:34
as you can see we got another pop-up about the permissions if you see this you can allow
6:39
or deny the permission to write and read the data about the health features
6:46
like heart rate and stuff like that. So if you want to use some features, you need to allow the permission for it
6:52
If you don't care, you can keep it disabled. I'm going to just tap on turn on all
6:56
and tap on allow, but you can tap on don't allow if you want to. Okay, and once you've downloaded the permissions
7:03
you'll see the My Day page and also you should see the icon of your watch
7:07
right here. You can also tap on more option to open the menu
7:13
tap on garment devices, and here you will see your for Arana
7:17
245, and if you tap on it, you'll open the device page for it
7:21
And at this point, the devices are paired together. And we can go back on our watch
7:27
Let me skip this info pop up. Like that, go down. Scroll down, select dismiss
7:35
Like this. And here we have the watch face of our watch. As you can see
7:41
can use it now. Okay, so that's how you pair the watch through the or during the setup process
7:48
Now I'm going to show you how to do it after the watch has been already set up
7:52
So I'm going to open the app, disconnect the watch from our app
7:57
So let remove the device like this and go to settings Bluetooth forget device forget device okay
8:11
Now we need to enter the pairing mode on our watch first, so present hold the app button to open the menu
8:20
After the menu opens, use the down button to scroll down, scroll down through the menu, find the option code
8:26
phone, selected, and press the start slash stop button. Here, scroll down through the menu, find the option called Perphone, selected, and then
8:41
press the start Cock button. And this will open or other the watch will enter the pairing mode
8:47
And now you can download the application, a login, and after you log in
8:52
So let's open the app on our iPhone. After you log in, the app should detect your watch automatically, but if you're already logged in, you can tap on this blue button right here, plus button
9:07
And it will detect the watch. You can tap on connect and basically repeat the same steps as we did before
9:14
So you can enter the code. Tap on pair. Allow all the permission
9:34
Here we can tap on next. Set up the bedtime. Next. You'll probably, if you reinstall the app
9:48
you will get the permission questions. If you want to allow or deny them, as you can see, we didn't get them this time
9:54
because they are already like, allowed or denied because we didn't uninstall the app
10:00
And once you're done, you can tap on finish. Next, next. Finish
10:07
Not now. Got it. And here you have the icon of our watch
10:12
If you open the device page, you will see that it's here, right here
10:15
You can tap on it. And the watch is paired with our phone. Rather, iPhone
10:20
Okay. And that's how you pair this watch with an iPhone. Thank you for watching
