My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus and today I'll show you a fairly handy video to
0:15
check if your Galaxy still has warranty or if for instance, this is primarily for the
0:20
people that would buy the phone second hand. So Samsung comes with the Knox security and basically what it does is if it detects any
0:30
kind of tampering I would say with the system, it will basically void the warranty
0:35
I mean, if you do a rooting of the device, your warranty is gone, which is kind of obvious
0:40
But in here, this is primarily for the people that would be buying it second hand because
0:43
if you're probably rooting your device, you're aware of the consequences of it
0:48
But the people that will be buying it second hand may not know that the device was rooted
0:52
And this will be a really easy way to check if the device that you're buying has a void
0:58
warranty or not. So you will need a computer for this and just a simple cable that you plug into that computer
1:07
And from there, we can start off by simply powering off the device. So let's start off, power off, power off and wait for it to shut off
1:14
Once that has happened, simply take the cable, plug it in and then hold volume up and volume down
1:21
There we go. We get a warning here, disregarded, press volume up to continue
1:33
There we go. And from here, you have a bunch of text
1:37
But primarily what we are interested in is this line right here, warranty void zero
1:42
Now if it's zero, that means that the device still has warranty, or maybe this is kind
1:49
of weird to explain, but zero means that the warranty hasn't been avoided on the device overall
1:58
But still, if for instance your device passes that two year mark, I think that's how long
2:03
it is under warranty, then it will still lose it, but in here it will show you still zero
2:08
That's just showing you that it hasn't been, the device wasn't tempered with in a way
2:15
So yeah, that's basically showing, this could actually get a little bit lighter, I guess
2:20
it can't, so I'm going to turn down the brightness here around the devices and crank up the exposure
2:28
There we go. So you can see the zero, and that means that the device is still under warranty
2:36
If that would have been showing one instead of a zero, that would mean that the warranty
2:41
is now gone. So what that means for you is, if you're buying a device second hand from someone, you might
2:46
want to boot it before you actually purchase it. Boot it into the download mode, which like I said you do it by holding volume up, and
2:52
volume down when it's off while it's plugged into a computer. And simply from here look at if it's showing zero or one
2:58
If it's showing one, and someone is trying to tell you that it still has a Samsung warranty
3:05
because technically if it wouldn't have been tempered it might still have a warranty, sometimes
3:09
people just are full of crap and will try to sell you that manufacturer's warranty is
3:14
still active or stuff like that, which for the most part, they're full of crap
3:19
So just keep that in mind. And this is an easy way to check also if they're trying to lie to you or not
3:25
Now once you have checked it and you simply want to leave this mode, all you need to do
3:28
really is hold volume down and power key, both keys together. Now I know it's a little bit hard to see right now because of the exposure, but you know
3:36
hold volume down, power key. So let's do that right now. Now once the device reboots I'm gonna drop down the exposure
3:45
There we go. Now obviously once it's rebooting you can unplug it
3:55
So I'm just gonna, there we go, remove the plug, and it doesn't really matter anymore
4:02
Leave it a moment and we should be done back in the Android operating system
4:08
And there we go. So if you found this video helpful, don't forget to hit that like button, subscribe
