Welcome! In front of me is an Alcatel 1B and today I will show you how we can format your SD card
0:10
Now to get started you'll need to navigate into your settings, so let's open up our settings and
0:16
from here we want to navigate to storage. Now I don't have an SD card in here, so I
0:26
might have a problem actually showcasing this, so let me just quickly fix that up
0:32
Now I won't actually go through the formatting process of this card because I believe there is data that I don't want to get rid of
0:37
on the card. So obviously for this purpose that's not gonna be my option
0:49
That's the power button, this one? There we go. Okay, so let's go back and try it again. So storage and there we go. As you can see it now shows us SD card
1:03
Here you will select your SD card by tapping on it. It will ask us if we want to open it up using files or files by Google. It's completely up to you
1:11
I'll be using the first one, which is just the files. You can also choose to open it up always with this program or just once. I'm gonna select just once
1:23
Now once it opens up the program you can see that it automatically defaults to that SD card
1:27
So from here you want to click on these three dots and then select storage settings and
1:34
here you can see format option. This will bring up a message once you click on it. This card needs to be formatted. That's
1:43
ignore the first statement actually. It's for some reason always there. Anyway, the second one is the one that actually matters. Formatting will erase existing content on the SD card. To avoid losing content back it up
1:53
to another SD card or device. So like the message states if you keep any kind of data on your card that you don't want to get rid of
1:59
make a backup copy of it probably to your computer, which would be the easiest way. Once you have that made a copy of
2:06
whatever it is on that card, then you can select format SD card. There might be a need to
2:12
basically reaffirm this. But I'm not gonna press on it just in case that there isn't one because I do have data that I don't want to get
2:20
rid of. So I still need to back it up on my end. So I'm gonna select cancel. But in your case just confirm it
2:27
This will go through a fully automatic formatting process which only takes a couple of seconds and once it's completed
2:32
we'll just give you a message that the format of the card has been completed and that's it
2:37
The card is then ready to be used once more. So with that being said, if you found this video helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe and thanks for watching
