Welcome and for now I'm using a Motorola G71 and today I will show you how you can go through
0:13
the setup process of this phone when you first boot it up
0:17
So as you can see we have the Hello screen where you get to select your language right over here from the list
0:21
I'm sticking with English so there we go. From there you can select Start which will take you to the next page which allows you
0:28
to enter the SIM card. Now truth be told this page is completely useless
0:32
You can insert a SIM card or you can just skip it, it doesn't really make much of a difference
0:37
The only reason why it is here is as an alternative to Wi-Fi
0:42
So if you're planning to not connect to Wi-Fi you can pop in a SIM card and throughout the
0:47
setup process because you insert a SIM card you will also have the option to log in to
0:51
Google account and the date and time will be set automatically instead of needing to
0:56
be set manually. So it will use the SIM card for mobile network and connecting to network just so you can
1:04
do those things. If you choose to skip both of them meaning Wi-Fi connection and inserting a SIM card
1:09
then you won't see the Google login page and additionally date and time won't be set automatically
1:14
which you will see right now I believe or maybe next page
1:20
So here we have the privacy and software update. Obviously you can read exactly what this is
1:26
You can disable most of them. Just toggling this off as you can see
1:30
From there scroll down and select accept and continue. So this will accept whatever was selected
1:36
Then we have the date and time. If you're planning to insert your SIM card or you want to connect to network later on
1:42
maybe when you're at home or whatever the case may be you can just completely disregard
1:47
this page. You don't need to worry about the time because once you connect to network it will be set automatically
1:53
So going to the next page we have Google services. We have things like location, scanning and sending user and diagnostic data
2:00
So briefly going into all three of them. Location is just a GPS tracking so the phone can give you an accurate route to your destination
2:08
when you're using applications like Google Maps as an example. Then we have allow scanning which allows the device to look for signals like Wi-Fi and
2:18
Bluetooth and below that we have the send user and diagnostic data which allows Google
2:22
to gather data, spy on you and send the data to themselves which no thanks
2:29
From there once we go to the next page we will have the screen lock option
2:34
So by default it opts into a four digit PIN but you can change that to be something else
2:39
by tapping right over here and you have a choice between a pattern PIN or passport
2:45
Choose whichever one you want. You can also skip this right here if you don't want to set any kind of screen lock
2:54
Once you draw your screen lock you will then need to repeat it and confirm it
3:01
This brings us to the next page which is allowing us to set up a fingerprint for unlocking the
3:06
device so you won't need to put in your pattern every time you want to unlock the device
3:13
I will be skipping this so I'm going to set up a fingerprint
3:19
And this brings us to the next page which is state the no. So this is just some Motorola garbage
3:24
You can sign up for their whatever the thing is. Not now
3:33
There, wait, there is more. Provide your email address to receive spam mail
3:38
Yeah, no thanks. I'm most certainly going to skip that one. And last thing we have here is the gesture navigation
3:46
So you can tap on get started and this gives you a quick introduction to gestures
3:51
You can just kind of flip through it. It shows you how to use it
3:55
And then you can either swipe up to go home using gestures or you can go into settings
4:01
and change it back to the buttons that you might be more used to
4:04
But I'm sticking with gestures so swipe up and there we go
4:08
That's the device being fully set up. So if you found this very helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe and thanks for watching
