Welcome, my name is Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro and today I will show you a couple tweaks and tricks
0:13
you can do on this phone. So to get started I'm going to begin with the dark mode which allows you to just simply
0:20
set up a dark mode that is system wide. So system wide meaning it will include basically all the default applications that come with
0:28
the device and any kind of app that has been programmed to utilize this as well will basically
0:33
have dark mode based on the system. So anyway, to get started let's navigate to the display section right here and as you
0:41
can see we have the dark mode and light mode. This is, you can hard toggle it right here and there is a little bit of a benefit as
0:49
well to having a dark mode here. Anything that is completely blank like the background right here and all the background
0:57
between the text will be, basically the pixels there will be turned off because this is
1:03
a OLED display, OLED or AMOLED, so that will increase your battery life just a little bit
1:10
Now don't expect any kind of like super significant battery gain from this but it's still there
1:14
so that I would mention. Now additionally you do have the option to set it as a schedule mode meaning that based
1:21
on the time, as you can see sun sets to sunrise, it will change
1:26
Now it is already 8pm right now so it changes to dark mode automatically and during the
1:32
daytime it will switch back to light mode instead. So it gives you this kind of good side out from basically both perspectives because personally
1:42
during the daytime it's easier to see light mode, the display doesn't get that bright
1:48
so when you're in direct sunlight, light mode will be a little bit better for this
1:53
Now when it's night and as an example you're going to sleep and you want to look at your
1:57
phone, dark mode will basically prevent you from going blind from the complete white background
2:02
So yeah. Anyway, moving on to the next option, it's going to be the color scheme which also is
2:08
located under the display section. So in here you will find your color scheme and by default it is set to, it is set to
2:20
vivid as you can see right here and you don't really get to see much here but in certain
2:26
cases the vivid might be a little bit too overdone
2:39
So we do have, actually vivid here is not that bad. And now as you can see, saturated has blown out of the, blown out of the proportions here
2:51
so I wouldn't probably recommend this one. The colors right here, they're so saturated that they're basically glowing as though they
2:58
would be radioactive or something. And then we have the original color
3:07
Original color looks to be really close to the vivid though I don't know if you can see
3:14
that on the camera. Compared to the white background the vivid is a little bit more bluish white while the
3:21
original has a little bit more yellowish background in terms of the white colors
3:27
So personally I think I'm going to stick with this one. I tend to read books on my phone and that would also make it a little bit easier on
3:33
the eye to read it like that with the background, the white color being more towards like the
3:39
warmer tone instead of the darker one or colder one. But obviously that's completely up to preference which one you choose
3:47
Then next one we have is the refresh, refresh rate option and as you can see it is set to 90
3:54
I don't actually know if this is the default one or not. So assuming it's not I do recommend you to set it to 90
4:00
Xiaomi's really kind of providing an animation right here to just show you visually the difference
4:05
between 60 and 90. As you can see if you pay attention to this ball it just kind of moves more smoothly compared
4:11
to this one which kind of like skips which just looks weird
4:16
The difference right here it is quite exaggerated. The actual difference isn't that bad but it is still kind of the premise of it the difference here
4:28
So obviously 90 will look smoother than 60 but there is also a downside to this
4:33
60 will have better battery life, 90 will consume a little bit more of your battery
4:38
So if you want to prioritize that just stick with 60. For everybody else that likes the smoothness 90 is the way to go
4:48
Now moving on to the next option it's going to be the... Hello? There we go, that's weird
4:59
So moving on to the next one it's the system navigation. So this will remove the buttons at the bottom and substitute them for gesture navigation
5:08
So to get this enabled we need to go back to the settings right here and this was located under..
5:14
Was it home screen? There we go, system navigation right here. So you can toggle this and as you can see we have the buttons
5:24
Those are the ones that are enabled right now. And then we have gestures
5:28
I'm not going to be learning them. As you can see it removes the buttons from the bottom, moves the content or allows to
5:35
display a little bit more content because it doesn't need to accommodate those buttons anymore
5:40
And to navigate through it you swipe up to go home. You swipe up from either side to go back
5:45
As you can see there is an arrow appearing. And you can swipe up..
5:50
Oh, I did this. So swipe up and hold to go through
5:54
Swipe up quickly and it will take you home. So it is a much nicer way to navigate
6:00
I personally adore this option especially on the curved displays like this one because
6:06
swiping when you're holding the phone you have something open and swiping from a side
6:10
just feels so good. So yeah, I recommend trying this out if you never used gesture navigation
6:19
Now moving on to the last option which was also in the same place under the home screen
6:24
was the home screen... I guess home screen... It has kind of the same name
6:32
What it allows you to change is the way the device displays applications
6:37
So you have the classic one which, if I would have to describe classic, it is classic to
6:42
iOS devices like iPhones because it just gives you all the applications smack in the middle
6:47
of your home screen. While the app drawer is the more classic to Android, hiding all the apps in an app
6:54
drawer and allowing you to add certain ones that you want to to your home screen
6:59
So just before I change it you can see right now we have all applications right here and
7:04
nothing extra. But if we change it... Oh, there we go, just glitched and changed
7:14
So as you can see right now we have just the standard applications that kind of come like
7:19
this with the phone. Those are like the default orientation of all apps. You can remove those if you want to
7:24
You can keep just, I don't know, maybe four apps or none
7:28
It's completely up to you. And whenever you want to access any kind of app that isn't on your home screen you can
7:32
just do this. And this will take you to your app tray
7:36
And in here, first tab is all your applications in an alphabetical order I believe
7:43
Plus this first row right here, or two rows, of the most recent or most used applications
7:51
But you also have the access right here to categories, common, entertainment, photography
7:57
And it will sort the applications to each category, usually semi-correctly. So if you sum up isn't in the place that you want to you can move it
8:09
But additionally you can also edit and also add your own tabs right there
8:19
And you can place any kind of application in there. So as you can see, manage categories right here
8:25
We can select custom. You want to add every kind of app that you want in that custom, new one
8:33
Name that tab right there. That's an example. I'm going to just add like a bunch of random apps right here that usually shouldn't be together
8:46
There we go. As you can see those are the six apps that I grouped right here
8:52
Going to name it random. There we go. Let's save it. And there we go
9:00
As you can see there is the random new one. And now when we go back to our app tray, you have random right here
9:08
And in here you have only the six apps that I have added plus an edit option so you can
9:13
add more later on if you want to. So anyway, this will conclude the tweaks and tricks that I wanted to share
